Faves: Push x Pull

Push x Pull has become one of our go-to coffee stops in Portland. The space is calm and unfussy, the bar invites you to hang for a bit, and the drinks are consistently solid. There’s care behind every cup, but it never feels overdone. Just good coffee, good people, and a place you’ll want to come back to.

Hike and a Bite: Washington Park to Screen Door

A quick escape into the quiet redwoods of Forest Park, followed by a comfort food spread at Screen Door

Kids in the Kitchen

Kids in the Kitchen is a new series about bringing children into the cooking process. We’re starting things off with two fun Mother’s Day brunch recipes that are easy for kids to help make and full of chances to learn, play, and make a mess.

Faves: Salt & Straw

Stopped by an old favorite, Salt & Straw, to check out their new Upcycled Food Series. A fresh twist that shows they’re still finding ways to surprise.

Hike and a Bite: Memaloose Hills + pFriem Family Brewers

A hike worth the views, a bite worth the drive. We caught peak wildflowers on the Memaloose Hills Trail, then followed it up with bratwurst, a pimento burger, mac and cheese, and a cold Japanese Lager at pFriem in Hood River.

Hike and a Bite: Lower Macleay Trail to Pizza Thief

A Hike and a bite worth repeating: We started with a peaceful out-and-back on Portland’s Lower Macleay Trail, then followed it up with beer and a slice at Pizza Thief on NW Vaughn. Forest to fork, all in one afternoon.

Faves: Maru Coffee – Arts District, Los Angeles

Our go-to coffee spot in LA and what we consider the gold standard—Maru Coffee in the Arts District. Thoughtful space, stellar staff, and some of the best drinks in town, like the Cream Top and Espresso Tonic.
