- 8 oz strawberries
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Wash strawberries, remove stems, and cut into quarters.
Place strawberries, water, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, skim foam from surface, and simmer for 15 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
Allow the mixture to cool, then strain into a container.
Store syrup in the refrigerator.
